  • Anthony’s Twisted Nethervault Dungeon

This Community Spotlight is a fun one because we get to see a game in progress! Anthony Sorg has created a set of 12 maps featuring cursed, twisted ancient rooms, each packed with atmosphere and character AND played on them on a real life table. 😮

From Anthony:

“I created this map set using entirely 2MT Dungeondraft assets (minus the Shadow Pack), all built and processed directly within Dungeondraft. It represents a massive magical dungeon I’m currently running my players through, known as the Nethervault — a remnant of an ancient Netherese city once anchored above a vast nexus of death energy and magic, in the place where Baldur’s Gate now stands. In the campaign, my party is working to destroy three of these anchors, which Zariel intends to use to drag Baldur’s Gate into the Nine Hells.

This particular anchor lies buried beneath the Great Library, its chambers corrupted by shadowy entities and broken experiments that long ago slipped their bindings. The dungeon is a blend of lost Netherese knowledge, twisted arcane machinery, and creeping darkness — a perfect stage for mystery, danger, and discovery. I can’t wait to create more maps like this using these incredible assets!” …

… “So I actually work at an architecture company with full access to a full-size 36” wide printer room. But when I’m not using that I use the map printer tool that Ross mentioned, print to 11×17 and stitch together with spray adhesive on black poster board.
That’s the method I did for the maps in the pictures.

Been a fan and regular Dungeondraft and 2MT user since 2019. I’ve built a pretty big collection of modular dungeon maps in that time.
I want to have a massive collection of maps ready to go on poster board I can just drop on my table no matter the circumstance”

Thank you Anthony! Loved seeing these, and I think folks are going to have a great time repurposing them.

  1. This is really sweet! And coincidentally I'm running an arc right now about an anchor running through Ramazith's Tower, though I already had my own maps for it (I might share them, if I can get them tidied up a bit).

But this Nethervault set of maps is really cool — I'm just wondering if it'd be possible to get a followup article discussing the intended order and maybe a stripped down version of what's on each level? I can easily assemble it into an order that makes sense to me, but it'd be a huge help to know what puzzles and such were planned for it!

    1. I will forward your message to the community member that made it, and I’ll let you know what they say if they get back to me 🙂
