Updated November 6th, 2026.
We create our art and supplements primarily for the GM playing at home with a group of friends. If you are that GM, please use any of our legally acquired content in that context however you like. Have fun!
– Ross
‘Maps’ refers both to our premade maps and to maps created using our map assets. ‘Content’ refers to maps, assets, and token art.
You may not distribute, sell, or give away for free any of our products, or any work that includes our products, unless defined by the terms and conditions outlined below.
General Terms of Use
These terms apply to any use of any of our content, under any of our licenses.
- (1) You may not use any of our content in the minting of NFTs or training of AI. Nor can they be used in any product that also uses NFTs or AI Generated Content, or by any company that also uses NFTs or AI Generated Content in any of their other products.
- In this context, ‘AI Generated Content’ is any content that uses LLMs such as (but not limited to) ChatGPT, Gemini, and MidJourney to generate media such as (but not limited to) images, video, audio or text.
- AI tools used to aid with coding are allowed. AI tools such as image re-scalers or enhancers applied to your own original creations are allowed. Any AI tools based solely on open-source or licensed content are also allowed. If you are not sure if the tool uses licensed or open-source content, you may assume that it does not.
- (2) You may not use our content in any works that may be considered hateful or harmful towards any group of people, particularly marginalised groups. This includes, but is not limited to, any material that promotes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or bigotry of any kind.
- (3) You may not use my content in any way that suggests that 2-Minute Tabletop endorses your product.
- (4) This license is non-transferable (you can’t relicense or sublicense my content to someone else).
- (5) If you are distributing the maps in physical format, they must be no larger than their intended size (number of grid squares in inches).
- (6) You must include attribution for 2-Minute Tabletop as the artist (see Attribution below).
- (7) You must make reasonable efforts to ensure these terms are adhered to. We retain the right to have my content removed from your works at your expense if the terms have not been met and no reasonable effort to adhere to them was made. If you are concerned that you may be inadvertently violating any of these terms, please contact us in advance of publishing the works for clarification.
Attribution
If you are using any of our content under any of our licenses, you are required to do the following wherever our art appears:
- Include attribution in the form of our name and a link to our home page (https://2minutetabletop.com/). For example:
- Maps by 2-Minute Tabletop (https://2minutetabletop.com/)
- Map made with assets from 2-Minute Tabletop (https://2minutetabletop.com/)
- Creature tokens by 2-Minute Tabletop (https://2minutetabletop.com/)
- Monster Lair and Snowy Summit maps by 2-Minute Tabletop (https://2minutetabletop.com/)
- If you are using our artwork in promotional material, such as a social media post, attribution must accompany it in the description or in the form of a watermark.
Non-Commercial Use
Much of our library is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License. Please refer to that page for specific details.
This license allows you to use our many CC BY-NC maps for non-commercial, non-promotional means, so long as attribution (as above) is included. For example, when:
- Sharing custom-made maps
- Sharing an adventure or supplement that includes our maps
- Hosting our art in a free web tool
It is important to note that using our content to increase the appeal of a commercial site or Patreon, even if our content is provided for free, is considered commercial use and is subjected to our Commercial Licensing terms below.
You can find out whether a map is released under this license in our Patreon release posts and product pages. Any map that is available as a Bronze reward or as PWYW in our library is released under this license, but maps released as Silver tier rewards or cost $1.00 or more on our library are not availiable for use under this license.
Streaming, Video Content, and GM-for Hire
We make a special exception if you wish to use our content in your streamed games, in videos you make, or in games that you charge money to run — you do not need to be a patron or purchase a license.
Anyone is welcome to use any of our content they have legally accessed in games they are streaming or in videos posted online, as well as in any games that they charge for. This includes current and former patrons, customers who have purchased the maps/assets from our website, or anyone who has downloaded our free content.
You must still include attribution (as above) in the description, title card, stream panels, or pinned comment.
You must not distribute the maps/assets or post high resolution images of them.
You are still required to adhere to General Terms listed above.
Commercial Licensing
These terms apply to any and all products released after November 6th, 2026.
At this time, we only grant the following commercial licensing via Patreon for the use of our maps, assets, and tokens.
Patreon Specific Terms of Use
- (1) ‘Published’ or ‘Released’ material refers to anything you create with the purpose of financial gain. This includes products for sale, subscriber rewards, promotional materials, etc. Content you post online that is shared solely for the purpose of fun does not need to adhere to these terms, however please still include attribution and do not share any of my patron exclusive content.
- (2) These allowances only apply while you are a an active Patreon subscriber, after your first successful payment. If you cancel your patronage, all licensing allowances end immediately.
- (3) If you end your patronage, content that has already been released under these terms may continue to be sold (unless otherwise stated), but no more content may be created or released regardless of when it was created.
- (4) Promotional content you release for free, or content released on a Pay-What-You-Want model, is still considered commercial content, and is bound by these terms and conditions.
Please check license allowances for each different Patreon Pledge Tier below:
Bronze, Silver, Gold Supporters
- You may use any of the maps that your pledge gives you access to in games that you stream or record and publish online.
- You may also use any maps that your pledge gives you access to in games that you charge to run (GM for hire).
Mithril Supporters
- You may release up to 2 written supplements per month of your 2-Minute Tabletop patronage.
- Each written adventure must have at least 1,000 human-written words per map (not including contents page, credits, licenses, etc), be of reasonable quality, and adhere to the General Terms above.
- Adventures made using this license must have a minimum price of $1.00 per map used. Free adventures are not allowed.
- You may include the Print and/or VTT versions of the map set for use with the adventure.
- You may make minor adjustments to the maps, such as adding additional assets, map markers/GM notation, or making colour adjustments. If doing so, credit 2-Minute Tabletop as the original artist and credit any other artists separately. If you are not sure about this, contact us in advance.
- If you end your patronage to 2-Minute Tabletop, you can no longer release new adventures using our maps or tokens, but may continue selling those released during your patronage.
- The 2 adventures per month allowance does not ‘roll over’. If you do not release 2 adventures in a month, this number resets on the first of the next month.
- Digital and Print Sales are limited to 10,000 lifetime sales combined, per adventure.
Written adventure modules released to a subscriber base, such as through Patreon, count as one sale per subscriber. If you anticipate breaching this limit, please contact us in advance. - If you are creating commercial content for a third party (eg. a publisher) — for example, as a commission — the other party must also sign up for this tier and is subject to the same terms and conditions. This is not necessary for private commissions.
If you are working on a commercial project other than a written supplement and wish to discuss commercial licensing, please contact us.
