  • New World Hex Tiles by Spectralicy

Spectralicy has blown us away with their incredible work modifying our World Hex Tiles, and they’ve generously allowed us to share their amazing creations with all of you!

Get ready to add mushroom forests, swirling ocean whirlpools, majestic snails, unique rock formations, cascading waterfalls, stunning buildings, and even the legendary Tree of Life to your fantasy maps. This collection is overflowing with creative additions that will bring your fantasy worlds to life – We’re already inspired, and we know these will influence future Hex Tile releases. 😉

Spectralicy consistently produces fantastic work and frequently contributes to our Discord community. You can join the fun by becoming a patron here! We can’t thank Spectralicy enough for their talent and generosity, and we’re sure you’ll appreciate their work too.

From Spectralicy:

“I absolutely loved Rootyful’s Hex Tiles when they were made a few months back. I’d never run a Hex crawl before but immediately knew I had to. The hex tiles are plenty great for more general showing off what your region or world looks like too.

With Rooty’s base pack, there’s a ton of stuff that could be added and I eagerly await the return of the Hex Tiles but in the meanwhile, I made a few of my own; A wide range of assets and tiles mainly to show off the potential I see for maps like these. Some assets like the anvil rock or colossal snail integrate directly with existing 2MTT maps, the great wall assets can be used for other kinds of war games than D&D, and the modular islands can be used as an alternate coastline or be used to design a whole naval campaign.

There’s so many amazing possibilities of play for these tiles, and I hope these additions can spark some creativity.
There’s also two ready-made maps included – one of which I made directly in Roll20 – mostly to serve as examples, but perhaps you can find your own use for them!”

  1. Hey Ross! Huge fan of your work! Thanks for all you have done and continue to do!

I did notice that the New World Hex by Spectralicy are lower resolution quality than the asset packs you previously made. I really love these new assets but they seem to stick out a lot from my map due to the resolution difference. Is there any chance at getting higher res versions?

    1. Thanks Gabriel! I’m told that these are the highest-res versions that were made, unfortunately. You may have some luck with an upscaling tool though, so long as you don’t zoom ALL the way in!
