Windsock is the creator behind this Community Spotlight: a huge 60×60 rendition of the Argynvostholt mansion from Curse of Strahd. What a map! And this is only the ground level – just wait until you see the multiple floors that make up the full mansion, below.
The level of detail is inspiring – even the windows are mapped, the stone tiles coated in dust, and the gardens filled with overgrowth. The layered hill is made so convincingly, and the color grading sells the atmosphere perfectly. I’m taking notes, Windsock!

“I have been running a Curse of Strahd campaign for two years now, and my party is going to be exploring the crumbling haunted mansion of Argynvostholt. I wasn’t satisfied with any of the maps I could find available, and I wanted to see if I could combine all of the map layout and image editing skills I have developed in the past several years to make something really special.
This building is the sight of a battle that took place resulting in the death of an order of knights, and their leader, a silver dragon. I really tried to tell the story of the battle in the details of the map. My favorite details are the damage to the roof, the ancient stains of blood on the stone visible through the floor, and the claw marks on roof and third floors of the ruined section that show where the dragon was brought down, and how it clung on for dear life in its final moments.
The whole thing took a long time, and I had to customize the dragon statue from base 2-Minute Table Top assets to fit the map, but in the end I think the effort was worth it.”
