Fairy Glade battle map - Banner

This battle map is inspired by my childhood memories of The Legend of Zelda and Rayman 2, both of which feature magical woods and mystical forest spirits. Those games have shaped the way that I imagine old forests, and I think I’ll forever be trying to capture that magic in my maps.

There is some sign of civilization on this map in the form of the old, overgrown road that cuts through its center and leads to the base of the roots of a great tree. Not just any tree, but our old Ancient Tree Roots battle map…

The specially-made (and free) “Transition” map variant also combines with the following maps:

I hope that you can enchant your players with this map and a suitably magical adventure! If you have any encounter or story ideas, please do share them in the comments section below. 🙂

    1. If you can find a provider you are welcome to print one off for yourself! It’s only redistributing them or otherwise using the commercially that is banned by the license I have released these under. I’d love to know if you do find such a provider.

  1. I really like this concept! Trying to put it all together now but I have a question: is the Ancient Tree Roots map in the link above the same one you used when making the map? I just downloaded it and it appears slightly different and doesn’t line up with Fairy Glade (Transition)

    1. Thanks Peter! That depends on how you play your TTRPGs. Virtual or not, you generally just want to arrange the separate pieces next to each other using the preview above as a guide.
