  • The Royal Castle by Tobias

Tobias has crafted a colossal castle map, perfect for sprawling battles and courtly intrigue (Or in the case of his campaign, the heist of a lifetime!). Not only is it awe-inspiring, but they’ve generously shared it with everyone. Thanks, Tobias! – links below!

Boasting a detailed layout, including two basement levels ripe with hidden treasures, multiple ground floor entrance variations, and two additional floors providing ample space for courtly drama or thrilling battles. And to extend the adventure beyond the castle walls, there are even three massive external versions of the grounds (each 62×52)! This map provides everything you need to have your players attend an unforgettable party, or one of the most spacious encounters they’ve ever experienced!

So once again we thank Tobias for sharing his impressive efforts with us, and don’t forget to check out the downloads section below to see which of our asset packs made this map possible!

From Tobias:

“One of my ongoing campaigns had been leading toward a heist where the party needed to break into the royal treasure chamber in Suzail. The objective was to steal a magic item needed to prevent an invasion from the Nine Hells – so the stakes were high.

I knew that I needed a suitably large map that allowed for some dungeon-adjacent gameplay and a (likely) improvised scramble to escape into the surrounding city. I decided to split the map into two elements: the courtyard and the inner keep, the latter of which would be fairly simple so that I could easily modify and swap it out later. The result is a 4-level keep with a few variations: one being themed around Cormyr – the land of the purple dragon.

The heist itself was pulled off last week – with half the party breaking into the treasure chamber below and the other half attending the Queen’s ball in the main hall above. It was one of the most thrilling sessions I’ve run so far!”
