A large-scale, hand-drawn 44×32″ forest battle map saturated with tall trees, deep greens, and whimsical magic… Skip to the downloads?
This battle map is inspired by my childhood memories of The Legend of Zelda and Rayman 2, both of which feature magical woods and mystical forest spirits. Those games have shaped the way that I imagine old forests, and I think I’ll forever be trying to capture that magic in my maps.
There is some sign of civilization on this map in the form of the old, overgrown road that cuts through its center and leads to the base of the roots of a great tree. Not just any tree, but our old Ancient Tree Roots battle map…
The specially-made (and free) “Transition” map variant also combines with the following maps:
- North: Forest Glade
- South: Ancient Tree Roots
- East: Sacred Spring
- West: Edge of the Woods
