Here the cavern takes – quite literally – a dark turn, opening into a small, blood-spattered torture chamber.

Cavern Torture Chamber

A man whimpers, manacled to the rough wall. Perhaps he has important exposition to share, maybe he just whispers wide-eyed gibberish. His eyes are transfixed on the table of menacing implements. At the other end of the room, an orderly desk stands in quiet contrast.

This is the second-to-last map in the Madness of the Rat King cavern, for which my friend Tomer has written an excellent adventure that will bring context to every corner of this confusing cave. I highly recommend it!
