A small band of travelers have set up camp deep in the forest.
Nothing makes me happier than drawing a forest, and my only reason for drawing this one was that I wanted to imagine myself camping in a nice, cool place amongst leaves and birds. Luckily for me, we can never have too many of these maps!
As a small experiment I created Occupied and Vacant versions of this map rather than Day and Night ones. What do you think of this? I’ve been using Foundry VTT a lot lately and it seams that modern virtual tabletops do a grand job at simulating the time of day, so I wanted to try something else.

(That said, I ended up doing a specially-colored Night variant in the Gold Pack, as painting in nighttime-blue and glowing-coal-orange also brings me great satisfaction. I also really like the way the Winter and Sunny variants turned out.)
I hope that this map makes into your next forest adventure! I can practically hear the goblins, wolves, and other low-level enemies roaming about…

Your maps are always great. Detailed, logical arrangement of features. My only complaint ever is they are too small. I use 40 x 60 grid for fantasy RPGs which leaves some room for missile fire, and even that is too small for longbows and heavy crossbows. However, most camp encounters are at night, and even with Darkvision, sighting distances are shorter than missile fire with those weapons. File size seems to be a limitation with Fantasy Grounds, less so with Foundry, so I limit my detail to 40px or 50px per inch scale. As you noted with this map, Foundry and other VTT systems handle dynamic lighting, so no need to color maps dark or light.
Again, great job with this map!
Thank you George! It might be time for some more inter-joining maps to really push the size up.
