A mysterious, spooky, and FREE marsh map, perfect for a Halloween-friendly side quest!

The orange will-o’-wisps bathe this nighttime marsh in a Halloween-appropriate glow, suggesting some magical and spooky presence for your players to face.

For my next map I will be drawing up an abandoned hut to rest in the dry patch of this marsh, but in the meantime you might employ an array of specters, swamp beasts, or magical summons. Is a marsh not a great place for an awakened scarecrow? An old, forgotten clay golem? A swarm of will-o’-wisps and their wraith queen?

Whatever encounter you brew up, let us know in the comments!

Patrons also gain access to this handy daytime version, in case your players don’t fancy a marsh expedition in the dead of night… Enjoy!

My Painting Process

This is my commentary on how I color my battle maps using Gimp, a free alternative to Photoshop. I focus mostly on the ever-important skill of layer management, and ramble a little about color theory too.
