“This map is based on a location described in Pathfinder’s Mummy’s Mask adventure path. It is a mass grave located near a giant, ancient ruin, a set of earth works only known as the Slave Trenches, named so after the numerous bones of the slaves that died during its construction that still litter the site.

This is where the party runs into Ossumentals for the first time – a type of undead, created by countless restless elemental spirits that were bound here by the same slavers that have since seeped into the countless skeletons and now now roam the Slave Trenches. Alternatively, depending on the party’s level, some classic restless skeletons or a bone swarm would also be a great fit.

I like to put in some time to create and recreate maps for this module, but this map was quickly put together from my existing asset library in about 20 minutes just before the session it was used in. While made specifically for the adventure I am running, this map could also easily be used for other desert adventures… perhaps it is the remains of an ancient battlefield, the graveyard of a tribe of desert orcs, or the discarded bones of a blue dragon’s victims.”
